Tecomaria, tecoma or bignonia capensis is a climber plant belonging to the family of the bignonaceas.

Its reddish orange flowers attract attention in contrast to the dark green of its foliage.

Its branches are woody and its vigorous growth, so we must keep them at bay by cutting them when they have lost their shape.

We can use them as a climber plant, but they look much better with trimmed hedges, even attached to walls, also as a bush.

We must water moderatedly without flooding the land, and once established they resist periods of drought.

There are also yellow varieties "aurea" or peach "apricot" - with more compact foliage.
