It is commonly known as Amole and Yuca picuda (in Mexico) and Beaked Yucca (in the USA). This species is native to northern Mexico and the southwestern USA.

This plant is an elegant yucca with a trunk covered with dry leaves that can branch out and reach a height of 5 metres. The leaves, up to 70 cm long, are stiff, bluish, thin, thornless and yellow-edged.

The flowers of this yucca are white and appear in large inflorescences above the leaves. They flower in spring and part of the summer.

Widely used in rock gardens, as isolated specimens and in small groups, ideal for very sunny and dry slopes.

This plant thrives well in full sun exposure and in warm, dry climates. They are quite resistant to frost.

It thrives in poor, chalky and rocky soils but must be very well drained.

They are usually low maintenance plants that do not need watering other than occasional watering in summer.

Fertilisers and pruning are not necessary with this type of yucca.

It is a plant that resists well to the usual pests and diseases but they are afraid of excess humidity.

They can be propagated from seeds sown in spring in a sandy, slightly damp substrate.
