The Pyrostegia or Orange trumpetvine or Ignea is a vigorous, woody, evergreen climber from the bignoniaeae family  which has a fantastic flowering in cascade, of orange flowers at the end of the winter.

Although it is not a delicated plant  regarding soils, needs a good drainage system, without soggy soils.

If we add a special fertilizer for climbers it will encourage growth and flowering.

If possible, try not to expose it to strong winds.

We need to prune Pyrostegia Venusta mainly after flowering  to control its vigorous growth.

Trim some of its stems by the base, this way flowering will come out also on this part of the plant, as it is very normal that flowers and foliage get reproduced on the top of it.

Pyrostegia Venusta normally does not suffer from pests or deseases.
