The genus Ligularia belongs to the Asteraceae family and comprises over 100 species of perennial plants native to temperate regions of Asia and Europe. Commonly known as Ligularia or Leopard plant.

Description:

These herbaceous plants grow in a grass-like form (tufted). They have large, palmate-shaped leaves. The flowers are yellow, clustered in inflorescences, and resemble daisies. They bloom in the summer.

Care:

They are ideal for use in borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and in pots for terraces and patios. They can tolerate full sun or partial shade, with average temperatures ranging between 15-25°C. These plants require soil that retains moisture, but they are not picky about soil type. If transplanting is necessary, it's best done from autumn to spring. It is advisable to water them abundantly in summer and reduce watering slightly for the rest of the year.

Fertilization:

They only require the annual fertilization done in the entire garden, although they will appreciate adding a mineral fertilizer every 15 days in summer.

Diseases and Pests:

They are highly resistant to diseases and pests and do not require special care.

Propagation:

They can be propagated by division or from seeds sown in spring.
