The Esparraguera Myriocladus , whose scientific name is Asparagus Myriocladus, is a plant native to South Africa and is characterised by its highly branched stems, with needle-like leaves located on the same plane as the side branches, which is what gives it the appearance of a fern frond.

Asparagus myriocladus or ming fern is a perennial type of plants which belongs to the asparagaceae family

It is a plant of branched thin and tall stems from where sprout bundles of small leaves in a very bright green. They have feather like appearance.

Ubication:

Ming fern prefers shade of partial shade and although it resists direct sun as well it can result in a yellowish plant. When grown indoors place it in bright areas. Protect it from drafts and cold temperatures.

Flowering:

Flowers appears during spring to summer but they are not ormentally important. 



Irrigation:

Asparagus myriocladus shows good tolerance to drought and excess of water, although it will thrive much better with regular irrigation, more frequently during summer. In any case it will very much depends on the place where the plant is situated.

Pruning:

Asparagus grows quite tall, even reaching 1.80 mtrs in height, however at the same time it is a bonsai plant so it can be pruned as many times as necessary.

Soil and fertilizer:

Not exigent at all with the type of soil, but in any case it has to have a good drainage system.

Best time for feeding it is during spring and summer with special fertilizer for green plants.

Deseases:

Does not present  serious probles of diseases or pests, might be some aphids or scale insects when the environment is too hot or with low ventilation. That

will dissapear showering the plant to pressure or with a normal plants insectiside, try always to use ecological products.
