Origin and Description:

Salvia leucantha is a perennial shrub belonging to the Laminaceae family. Among the many varieties of Salvia, this particular one stands out for its stunning pink and violet flowering.

History:

Native to warm regions, Salvia leucantha is best planted between February and June, as well as between September and November in temperate climates. In colder areas, planting is done from March to June or in September and October.

Care:

This plant thrives in ample sunlight and warm climates, remaining healthy in temperatures up to 35°C. Regular watering, about 2 to 3 times a week, is recommended, although it can withstand periods of drought.

Soil and Drainage:

The ideal soil for Salvia leucantha doesn't require excessive organic matter but should be sandy and well-draining to prevent excess moisture.

Watering and Pruning:

Regular watering is essential to prevent drought, while proper drainage can prevent fungal issues, a common problem if the soil retains too much moisture. Regular pruning can be beneficial to maintain its shape and health.

Protection Against Diseases:

This plant can be susceptible to various fungi if the soil lacks proper drainage. Additionally, infestation by pests like spider mites, especially white mites, can affect its health if not adequately controlled.

Salvia leucantha, with its exquisite flowering and moderate care needs, adds beauty and elegance to any space, provided it's given the optimal environment for its growth.
