Bergenia cordifolia is a rythomatous plant which belongs to the saxifragacea family.
Its leaves are wide, rounded and dense, from where depart a few stalks that hold its inflorescences of pinks, purples or white.
It is a hardy plant which spreads over, what makes that it is suitable as a ground cover.
Bergenia cordifolia needs rich and well drained soils. based on substrate or humus, and thrives practically in all types of soils: alkaline, neutral or acidic.
Once the flowering is over, we can cut the withered stalks.
Doesn't need high maintenance, although we must observe berghenia because its leaves are tasty to snails and slugs.
