Agave attenuata, or Century Plant, or Fox Tail is a succulent plant which belongs to the agavaceaes family.
The plant develops in the shape of a rosette with big soft leaves and a pale green or greyish green colour which can reach 60cms or more.
The flower will appear in the most adult specimen in the shape of a long stem that writhes on itself, and it reproduces sheaths with seeds that will give place to new plants, dying the mother plant.
Its location will be in the sun and in soils with very good drainage, better if they are enriched soils. They are suitable in areas next to the sea.
It is convenient to fertilize with compost in summer and water it thoroughly at this time. In autumn will water about 2 times to the month and nothing in winter.
We should clean the old leaves at the botton of the trunk to keep it clean and nice.
Neither deseases nor pests are appreciated in the Agave, if anything, there may be cases of rot on the leaves by the excess water.
